Does Big Walk Have Split Screen? (Explained)
No — Big Walk does not have split-screen. It is online co-op only for 2–12 players across PC, PS5, and Switch 2. Here is why, and how to play together remotely.
Quick answer: no split-screen
Big Walk does not have split-screen. The game is built as online co-op only, for 2 to 12 players, with crossplay across Windows, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. A single screen or console cannot host two players in the same session.
Why there is no split-screen
The missing local mode is a deliberate design choice, not a missing feature. Big Walk runs on a proximity voice chat system: your voice fades as you move away from teammates, echoes down corridors, muffles through walls, and crackles over walkie-talkies. Figuring out how to reach a friend who cannot hear you is a core part of the game.
That whole loop collapses if two players share one screen in the same room — you would simply turn and talk in person and skip the in-game audio. House House even recommends avoiding out-of-game communication, including playing in the same physical space.
How to play "together" instead
Even if your group is in the same room, each person needs their own device and their own copy of the game, then connects through online co-op:
- One person starts a session and becomes the host (the host keeps the save).
- Everyone else launches Big Walk and chooses Join Game.
- Same platform? Join through the in-game friends list.
- Mixed platforms? The host shares the short Join Code shown in the session menu.

Player count and world versions
Sessions run from 2 to 12 players. When the host starts, they pick a 2-player, 3-player, or 4-plus world version, and parts of the world change to fit that group size. Drop-in and drop-out are supported, so players can come and go without ending the session.
