Three versions of the world

Each host chooses a world version for 2 players, 3 players, or 4+ players. Parts of the world adapt to that choice. Think of the selected number as the minimum reliable party size, not a hard lobby maximum.

If your 5-person group often drops to three, choosing the 3-player version may be safer. Up to 12 people can still play, but the core party should be able to support the chosen world setup.

The game has a complete journey

Big Walk has a beginning, middle, and ending. It is a hand-crafted cooperative adventure rather than an endless procedural social space. The world can still be a place to revisit and spend time with friends.

How progress works

The game saves automatically. The host owns the journey, starts each returning session, and disconnects guests when the session ends. Keep the same host if the group wants to resume the same progress.

A practical planning rule

Choose the world version based on the people who will reliably attend the full campaign. Treat extra friends as welcome additions instead of making the entire save depend on their availability.
